Welcome, my sprinkly friends, to 2018. Although, I'm one of those gals that wishes the Christmas season was even longer...alas we have to move on to new things.
We recently released our Valentine's Day collection of sprinkles and since I bombarded you with beautiful Christmas cookies on social media last month, I thought we could switch it up a bit.
One of my favorite treats around this time of year are chocolate covered strawberries. There's something about the textural dichotomy of a crunchy chocolate shell and a juicy sweet and tart strawberry that sends me into a pavlovian mouth watering stupor.
So, it was with great excitement that I set out to make some sprinkly chocolate covered strawberries. These are so easy to make at home and all you need is...
Fresh Strawberries (washed and dried)
Guittard Chocolate Chips
Sprinkle Pop Sprinkles (I used "Heart's Desire")
Wooden Skewer or Fork
To melt the Guittard Chocolate Chips, I placed them in a microwave safe bowl and microwaved them on high for 1 minute. I stirred the chocolate and then microwaved again for 2 - 20 second intervals, stirring in between until fully melted.
Once you've thoroughly coated your strawberry in chocolate, sprinkle on your favorite Sprinkle Pop sprinkle mix and place on wax paper. Allow to dry for 20-30 minutes.
I like to store these in the fridge and they will keep for 3-4 days.
