In a world where Pinterest is king, queen...and jester...and heck...the whole royal court, planning a child's party can seem competitive, extremely time consuming...and sometimes pretty expensive. I fully understand that not everyone has the desire or patience to throw a Pinterest worthy party....but gee if those gorgeous pictures aren't fun to look at!
Today I've compiled some eye candy for you from one of the trendiest party themes out there right now.....Unicorns! I want to show you how to throw a magical unicorn birthday party. From decor...to sweets...to costumes and more! We've got the whole unicorn-lovin' kitchen sink!
First up is decor! In my mind, no party (adult or child) is truly complete without balloons. (yes, I do realize that I'm turning 30 next year). Balloons are the quintessential party decor and you can't go wrong with adding glitter and confetti.
Also, don't forget your photo props! You can find tons of options on Etsy, whether you are looking for something already made, or you are willing to do the leg work by printing digital files and cutting them out yourself.
Who doesn't love confetti? No, but seriously? Who? I'd like to have a serious conversation with them about the whimsy and beauty that is confetti!
Moving on the dessert...arguably the most important part of any party. These unicorn cakes are all the rage and truthfully, I can totally see why. They are simple and adorable and I must admit I've jumped on the bandwagon. Check out this unicorn cake I did, featuring our Avalon Cakes Signature Sprinkle Mix
psssstttt....we actually have a Unicorn Sprinkle Mix that would be all kinds of perfect for a magical unicorn birthday party!
I'm the kind of hostess who inevtibly has multiple dessert options....mostly because I love, love, love to bake and be creative. So if cake isn't your thing, check out these totally adorbs Macarons by Southern Fatty
....and if macarons aren't your thing....well then I'm not sure we can be friends....Jk, we can totally be friends, but just know I'll be silently judging you for your poor taste in sweets, Ha!
If you are a sweet and salty kinda gal (or guy), you might dig this unicorn popcorn. It's probably my favorite find of the day!
Ok so rounding it out we can't forget about party favors. I think these unicorn headbands are a perfect little trinket for your pint sized guests.
and make sure to give them a bag to carry it home in! How cute are these? I swear people are so darn creative....AND I LOVE IT!
With some help from Pinterest, Etsy, and Sprinkle Pop you can create a stunning and fun unicorn birthday party. Now I must ask: what's your favorite part of planning a party?
