Looking to be a little extra with your hot chocolate this winter? Try these frozen whipped cream garnishes to add some flair to your hot beverage of choice.
1.5 Cups Whipped Cream
1/4 Cup White Sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla
I'll be honest, I didn't actually measure anything when I mage this recipe so feel free to let your heart tell you how much of each ingredient to put in. Let's be honest, there's no such thing as too much vanilla.
Pour ingredients into the bowl of your stand mixer and whip on medium-high until stiff peaks form. Don't have a stand mixer? Get one...it'll change your life.
Next, line a cookie sheet with wax paper. Plastic wrap, parchment, or butcher paper will also work. Spread whipped cream evenly onto cookie sheet at about 1/2 inches thick. Don't worry about making it perfectly smooth, textured treats are all the rage right now.
Place tray in your freezer until solid - roughly 30 minutes. Choose your cookie cutters, less detailed cutters seem to work better for this. Heat some water in a shallow pan on your stove. Working quickly, dip your cutter in the hot water, shake off excess water and cut garnishes. Carefully when removing them from your tray not to break them. You may need to periodically put them back in the freezer to firm them up.
I placed my cut garnishes on a separate plate. Then I sprinkled them with our Light Blue Sprinkle Mix and popped them back in the freezer. These can be left in the freezer for 24-48 hours prior to use. When ready just pull them out and carefully place them on your hot chocolate and enjoy.
