Water Color Buttercream Cake with Sprinkles

Posted by Liz Butts on

It’s my firm belief that sprinkles are for so much more than cake….but let’s be real… I’m a cake decorator! As such, it should come to you as no surprise that my first creation with these little lovelies was a super fun watercolor buttercream cake. But not just any cake….a piñata cake! That’s right! Cut this baby open and sprinkles come gushing out of the middle.

I also took this opportunity to try out a passion fruit buttercream that I read about over at Kara’s Couture Cakes. I paired it with a raspberry reduction per her suggestion….and…umm… DELISH!
And let’s talk about this Unicorn Sprinkle Mix for a sec…can we? It has little unicorn quinns in it! (That’s what us sprinkle biz people call shaped sprinkles) What could be cuter??
Check out the start-to-finish video of the cake assembly here!
Sweet Wishes,
