Mini Carrot Cake Pans
These mini cake pans with chocolate covered strawberrys are perfect for Easter and so creative! The best part is that they're super simple to make, using a box cake mix and store bought frosting so you'll waste no time. Enjoy!
Ingredients and supplies:
- Sprinkle Pop mini rectangle cake pans (set of 12)
- Duncan Hines chocolate cake mix (and the ingredients listed on their box)
- 1 small bottle of buttermilk
- 2 boxes of strawberries
- 2 bags of white candy melts
- Orange food coloring
- 1 can of chocolate fudge frosting
- 1 container of oreos
- Cooking spray or oil
- 2 large Ziploc bags
For the cake:
- In a large mixing bowl, follow the directions on the cake mix except the water, substitute that with the same amount of buttermilk
- Spray or grease your mini cake pans and evenly pour your cake mix into each pan evenly.
- Bake according to the box instructions.
For the strawberries:
- Clean your strawberries, dry them, and set aside.
- In a bowl, heat your candy melts in small intervals in the microwave until melted.
- Add orange food coloring until you get the desired color.
- Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Dip one at a time and place on a sheet.
- When you’re done, place them in the fridge to cool for about 15 minutes.
- In a ziploc bag, add the rest of your orange melted candy and cut a small hole in the corner.
- Pipe in drizzling motions on each strawberry.
For the oreo topping:
- Take the filling out of your oreos and place them into your large ziploc bag.
- Seal the bag and crush the oreos, you can do this with a rolling pin easily.
- Once done, set aside.
Assembly:
- Once the cakes are out of the oven and cooled, use a small spoon or a butter knife to cut 3 small holes in the cake.
- Once this is done, frost your cakes with the chocolate fudge frosting.
- Add your oreo crumbles.
- Lastly, press your strawberries into the holes that you made.
